Canon “2200” printer reset: identify the complete model first

Published by Alphatech · Updated October 11, 2026

“Canon 2200” is not enough information to choose a factory-reset procedure. Similar numbers can appear in different Canon product families or as a support code. Read the complete model name from the device before following reset instructions.

Clarify what needs resetting

Decide whether the problem concerns network settings, a print queue, a login or the device itself. A factory reset can remove configuration without fixing a mechanical fault. Record the actual symptom and any displayed code.

Use the matching manual

Find the exact product on Canon Support. Read what its reset option changes and whether administrator access is required. Do not use a button combination from a similarly numbered model.

Preserve information you will need again

Before a permitted reset, record the network configuration and any other settings you need to restore. On shared office devices, coordinate with the administrator and other users. Understand whether stored data, address books or access settings are affected.

If the issue is connection-only, try the model’s connection diagnostics first. Our Canon troubleshooting overview helps distinguish the routes. If you cannot identify the product or a reset’s effects, use official Canon support before proceeding. Do not reset a managed device without the responsible administrator.
