Canon LBP2900B on Windows 11: check driver compatibility

Published by Alphatech · Updated October 11, 2026

Before installing an LBP2900B driver on Windows 11, check Canon’s compatibility listing. A download described as 64-bit does not automatically establish support for every 64-bit Windows version or processor.

Find the official package

Canon publishes an LBP2900/2900B CAPT driver page. Read its supported systems, installation notes and model list. Use the Canon site for your region where appropriate. Do not download a package from a third-party driver site merely because it promises Windows 11 support.

Confirm the system before proceeding

Check the Windows version and system architecture on the computer. If the official listing does not cover your system, ask Canon about the appropriate route rather than claiming compatibility or disabling driver security checks.

Follow the official connection sequence

Use the installation instructions accompanying the compatible package, including when to connect the USB cable. Avoid installing several unrelated printer drivers. After setup, select the intended printer entry and test a short document.

If installation fails, record the complete message and whether Windows detects the device. Our Canon driver checks explain the useful comparisons. A guide cannot guarantee that an older printer works on every new system; obtain the current compatibility answer from Canon.
