Add and manage multiple email accounts in Outlook
Keeping several addresses in Outlook is convenient, but the setup depends on the app version and account type. New Outlook, classic Outlook and mobile Outlook do not all use the same screens.
Identify the app first
Check which Outlook version you use and whether each address is a personal, work or school account. Use Microsoft’s account-addition instructions for that version. Start with the app’s add-account option and follow the provider’s sign-in prompt.
Add one account at a time
Complete sign-in and any verification, then test sending and receiving before adding the next address. Some providers have special requirements for app access. Obtain these from the provider rather than guessing server names or sharing a password with a technician.
Avoid sending from the wrong address
Before sending a message, check the From field and selected account. Give accounts recognisable labels where the app supports them. If a reply goes from an unexpected address, review the account selected for that message rather than changing all account settings.
Before removing an account
Check whether messages or files are stored only on the device. Preserve local data before removing a profile. For a personal-account password problem, use our Outlook recovery guide; for app setup trouble, see Outlook support options.
