How to contact Microsoft about Outlook problems
Outlook can mean a desktop application, a mobile app or Microsoft’s web email service. Start by naming the version you use and whether the account is personal, work or school. That distinction changes who can help.
Use the appropriate support route
Open Microsoft Contact Us for the current product and account options. If your organisation manages the account, contact its IT team as well; it may control permissions, licences and sign-in policies that Microsoft’s personal-account process cannot change.
Check whether the fault is in the account or app
If browser mail works but the app does not, note the app version, operating system and exact error. If no sign-in method works, begin with Outlook password and account recovery. Changing the password repeatedly will not necessarily fix an app-specific problem.
Before removing an account
Confirm which messages and files exist only on the device. Removing a profile or reinstalling software can affect local data. Record your current configuration and follow the guidance for the correct Outlook version.
For a Hotmail address, our Hotmail help guide explains the personal Microsoft account route. Keep passwords and security codes private; support cannot bypass account ownership checks or guarantee recovery.
