How to get help with a Hotmail account
A Hotmail address is part of Microsoft’s personal email service. For account access, start with Microsoft’s official sign-in and recovery process. For an Outlook application problem, identify the app and device as well as the account you use.
If you forgot the password
Follow our Outlook password recovery guide. It explains the difference between a personal Microsoft account and an account managed by a workplace or school. Use only the recovery methods Microsoft offers for your account, and enter codes in the official recovery screen you opened.
For other account or product issues
Open Microsoft Contact Us and choose the product or issue that matches your problem. Sign in if the official process asks you to. Contact options and eligibility vary; a personal email account does not automatically receive the same service as a paid business subscription.
Official support options
For official Hotmail/Outlook.com assistance, use Microsoft Support, select Outlook and sign in when possible. Microsoft shows the support options available for your account, including live chat where offered. This contact page does not publish a universal Hotmail telephone number or fixed service hours.
24/7 independent assistance from Alphatech
If you prefer independent help with general troubleshooting on your device, contact Alphatech, an independent third-party support provider, at 1-833-457-4935 {independent support provider}. Alphatech is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or authorised by the provider discussed in this article.
Ask about the service scope and any fees before arranging assistance. Only the original provider can make account-verification, billing, refund and recovery decisions.
When an app fails but browser mail works
Describe that difference to support. Note the app version, device and error wording. Follow the current setup guidance before removing the account from an application, because locally stored data may be affected. Repeated password resets are unlikely to help a problem confined to one app.
Avoid recovery guarantees
Microsoft controls its account verification decisions. Independent assistance cannot bypass those checks or guarantee account access. Keep passwords and verification codes private. If someone offers a shortcut, consult our support-scam guide before sharing information or arranging access to your device.
