Activate a McAfee product key through the official account process
A product key is a licence detail, so keep it private. Do not post it in a forum or send it to someone who contacts you unexpectedly. Start with the instructions supplied with your purchase.
Use the official route
Open McAfee Support and find the activation instructions for the product you bought. Confirm that the account and region match the purchase. Enter the key only in the official redemption process you initiated.
Check an activation error before buying again
Record the exact message and check the product and account details. A key already associated with an account needs a different response from a typing error. Keep proof of purchase ready for official support without posting payment information publicly.
Confirm protection after installation
